We are empowering startups that address global critical socio-economic causes related to the net zero emissions and healthy living.
The UAE Net Zero by 2050 strategic initiative is a national drive to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, an audacious goal that needs a change in the way business is done until now.
To help mitigate the societal and environmental challenges arising from this goal, startups can play a pivotal role. The Shell StartUp Engine UAE supports startups that can help achieve these goals who are creating solutions around zero emissions.
We believe, if we are to realize solutions that create a fair and equitable energy transition for all, we must ensure sustainable innovation happens across the entire lifecycle of net zero emission, from lowering emissions to going to alternative sources and reducing our carbon emission footprint.
The 3 areas of impact for this programme are:
Focus areas of the start-ups will include:
- Road to Zero: Solutions to effectively meet the net-zero ambitions of the UAE by transforming the way organizations operate today into more sustainable ones, and by establishing infrastructure and processes that will enable a sustainable future.
- Green Movement: Innovations that will reshape the transportation industry, including logistics and supply chain, mobility and aviation, in order to move goods and people in a more efficient and sustainable way.
- Life Essentials: Solutions that strengthen cities with new and better food and water systems, as well as, sustainable buildings, able to cater a population facing increasing scarcity of resources.
