About CRecTech

The problem we're solving:

The maritime industry contributes to 2-3% of global CO2 emissions, and the transition to renewable fuels is vital to help achieve net zero carbon within the shipping and maritime sector. However, the lack of affordable and abundantly available renewable fuels (i.e., methanol) hampers the rapid decarbonization efforts on a global scale.

Our solution:

CRecTech developed a novel catalytic process that simplifies bio-methanol production and affords 50% less production cost, making renewable methanol fuel more affordable for end consumers.

Our differentiator:

CRecTech employs biological and thermocatalytic routes to convert greenhouse gases methane and CO2 to methanol fuel in a simplified process. This is made possible by CRecTech's unique catalyst technology, which has intrinsic CO2 utilization capability, improves affordability and lowers the carbon footprint of the methanol production process.

Our biggest achievement:

  1. Received investments from NUS Enterprise and NUS Graduate Investment Private Limited (GIPL)

  2. Awarded Startup SG Founder grant from EnterpriseSG

  3. First Runner-Up title in the 2023 Singapore Smart Port Challenge, co-organized by PIER71 and MPA
