Sven van den Bedem

Sven is an entrepreneurial Energy Leader with extensive experience in Renewables, Upstream Oil & Gas, and LNG. He has strong Organisational Leadership, Asset Management, and Business Development skills, leading large organizations with significant business, safety, and reputational responsibilities early in his career. Sven began in Upstream Oil & Gas, then moved to the LNG business, fulfilling senior roles at Shell, including starting up the Shell Prelude Floating LNG facility in Australia. He is now leading Energy Transition projects for Shell UK Upstream, electrifying offshore oil & gas platforms, developing power infrastructure, and integrating offshore floating wind. As a recognised leader in the ET, Sven is also a Director on the board of the Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG). With his passion for people development, approachable leadership style, and broad skillset, Sven is excited to help start ups succeed!
