Marcelo Medeiros

Graduated in Marine Biology (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ), MScr and PhD in Zoology, at Museu Nacional (UFRJ). Active in Marine Biology since 1986. Throughout the graduation I’ve developed work with zooplankton, as well took part in several field campaigns. In the MSc and PhD, I’ve developed studies of the taxonomy of cnidarians in coastal environments and deep waters. I’ve worked in the orientation of undergraduate and MSc students. I’ve also took part in scientific projects related to the knowledge of the Brazilian marine fauna, acting as field coordinator in some of them. Five years of experience in an environmental consulting company, working on the preparation of environmental impact studies for the oil and gas industry. Acting in oil and gas exploration and production companies since 2011, working in the coordination of environmental licensing; management of greenhouse gases and cooperation projects between operators. Working as R&D Coordinator since 2022, focused in low-carbon solutions projects, such as NBS and biofuels.
