About SOLV8 Technology

The Problem:

15% of the global energy consumption and CO2 emission are caused by industrial chemical separations. This is because the current separation technologies, such as evaporation, heavily rely on heating and boiling the mixtures. These processes are consuming $1 trillion worth of energy and emitting 4 billion tonnes of CO2 every year. Industrial chemical separations need to be more energy-efficient and sustainable.

The Solution:

SOLV8 membranes are compatible with chemicals and can separate different chemicals by molecular filtration. By eliminating the need for heating the mixtures, SOLV8 nanofiltration technology can reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions by 90%, and reduce the OpEx by 60%. SOLV8 nanofiltration offers the most cost-effective and sustainable method for chemical separations.

The Differentiator:

SOLV8 Technology reduces energy consumption and CO2 emission by 90% as compared to traditional evaporation and distillation processes, leading to 60% cost saving. We overcome the weakness that polymeric membranes are not solvent-resistant and hence cannot be used in chemical separations. SOLV8 Technology improves the throughput of the membrane by 40x and reduce the impurities in the recycled solvents by 100x.

Biggest Achievement:

- Awarded the ESG Startup Tech Proof-of-Value project to deploy the first paid pilot system at Singapore Jurong Island. - Deploying 3 paid onsite pilot projects in Singapore, Malaysia and India for solvent nanofiltration and solvent dehydration. - Received 11 letters of intent from vegetable oil, pharmaceutical and oleochemical companies.
